MACRAO General Education Transfer Agreement
Effective Fall 2013
We know that college is an expensive investment, which is why you may have chosen to attend a community college. Now that you’re ready transfer to Wayne State, you need to make the most of the academic credit you’ve earned at your community college. That’s why Wayne State recently signed the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) transfer agreement.
Once you have received the MACRAO certification on your Michigan community college transcript, or earned an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Liberal Arts (ALA), Associate of Science (AS) or Associate of Baccalaureate Studies (ABS) degree, from your Michigan community college you will have your Wayne State general education requirements satisfied. This could fulfill many degree requirements at Wayne State, and move you that much further along towards earning your Bachelor degree! This will save you both time and money.
You will need to satisfy any other school, college, or major requirement, of course, and you will also need to have completed college algebra (or higher) with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA in order to complete WSU’s Math Competency requirement.
You can earn your MACRAO certification or associate's degree after you start classes at WSU either as part of the Reverse Transfer Program, or on your own. Once your certification or degree is posted you can just have an official transcript sent and your record will be updated.
Make the most of your time at your community college -- speak to your adviser about a road map to MACRAO certification now and review our transfer plans. That way, you will have maximized your community college credits when you decide to apply to transfer to Wayne State. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
